You know you are a Wadeyeian when...

… you know a storm is coming because the digital TV cuts out.
… when the water goes out, you immediately check the time as 60 minutes later the work day is finished.
… when the power goes out, you don't even get up.
… you no longer react to screaming and yelling down the road.
… 300 people rioting is just another Wednesday.
… injured, hairless, wounded dogs are run of the mill - the healthy dogs stand out.
… you get to know The Black Dog of Death on Perdjert Street.
… and in relation to the aforementioned dog, you now have a rock throwing arm like Ricky Ponting.
… you stop using the hot tap in the shower - the cold tap is warm enough.
… you stop using the kettle - you just use the hot tap.
… a rock on the roof is a knock on the door.
motherfucko becomes a part of your vocabulary.
… as do yuu, bah, big mob and a little bit long way.
… the words whitefella and blackfella no longer carry any negative connotations.
… you can sustain a long distance conversation by using elaborate hand signals.
… you recognise a whistle call dedicated to your name.
… you point with your lips rather than your fingers.
… you can pick the type of plane merely by the sound while sitting indoors.
… the plane arrival and departure times replace a clock.
… you understand liquor licences are mandatory but car licences are not.
… for five months of the year the Bureau of Meteorology website is number one in your browser history.
… a dozen nude children playing in the gutter become a wet season normality.
… you no longer consider Ten Dog Corner or Chicken Oval funny names for places.
… you no longer have Wadeye clothes and city clothes - you only have Wadeye clothes.
… 25'C becomes jumper and jeans weather.
… you celebrate when the work experience kid at Coles has managed to get your whole order right.
… and none of it has gone missing on the boat it is shipped in.
… you know from experience when you have an alcohol delivery on the plane, you better be waiting for it on the runway.
… you book your Christmas flights out of Wadeye at Easter and Easter flights at Christmas.
… you now know fluffy clouds mean a bumpy ride on said flights.
… you know to bring a chair to a party.
… you roll your eyes at the newbies that gush over their appointed blackfella name.
… names like Aloysius, Thaddeus and Narcissus are completely normal 21st century names to you.
… you probably have a Shakira or a Kirk Hammet in your class and it doesn't make you giggle.
… swastikas do not faze you.
… you have a new found appreciation for graffiti that is spelled correctly.
